Our Founder
Mordechai Z. Hecht, Rabbi
Born and bread in 1980 right here in the center of forest hills, in the Forest Hills Gardens.
Born into a family of 14 children. His father and mother community leaders as Rabbi and Rebbetzin of the first and largest sephardic synagogue in Queens.
The Hecht family moved to queens in 1975, afther the Lubavitcher Rebbe, ZT"L, blessed his parents to accept the position serving the the greater sephardic community in Queens.
The Hecht family's connection to Forest Hills and queens at large is a deep rooted one. One which will continue for generations.
It was a light bulb in the midn of the founder to create these online pages to authentically document the history of this most prestegious neighborhood to authentically mark our place in History.
